Academic Project Spotlight: Open Mobility
A Modular Manual Wheelchair Designed for Local Repair and Global Access
Northeastern University students Michael Cerny, Anna Morrison, Aydan Kloiber, Aiden Lareau, Christopher Shih, Daniela Broad and Professor Jack Price have created the Open Mobility project for their 14-week capstone project.
Sponsored by The Mobility Independence Foundation, the Open Mobility project aimed to create an, “…open-source, modular wheelchair, using bicycle parts and basic hardware, that can be built, adjusted, and repaired locally.”
